Capitals Vs. Rangers: Washington Tries To Snap Five-Game Winning Streak

After last night's loss to the Colorado Avalanche, the Washington Capitals are fully involved in their longest losing streak in the Bruce Boudreau era. Tonight, they hope to end that five-game skid when they travel to New York to face the New York Rangers.

Washington fell 3-2 to the Avalanche in a game in which they never led. The Avalanche took a 3-1 lead into the third period, and only a late goal provided the final margin. It was also an ugly game for Alexander Semin, who was ejected for a vicious cross-checking penalty. Semin will play against the Rangers, but was fined for the check, as he should have been.

The Rangers have 35 points and are currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference. This is a team the Capitals should beat. Then again, all these teams they've lost to are also teams they should have beaten.
