The Nationals have made it official, announcing in a press release that Stephen Strasburg will start on June 8 against the Pirates at Nationals Park, according to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post.
So it’s set in stone. That is, unless there are unforseen circumstances.
[General Manager Mike] Rizzo said the debut date comes with “appropriate caveats,” such as Strasburg getting rained out in his final Triple-A start on Thursday or an injury.
Here’s hoping none of that happens and Strasburg indeed starts on June 8. Oh, and in case you were wondering, one person has already made the joke that the Pirates are basically a AAA team.
