Scott Olsen Sent To Extended Spring Training After Injury Setback

Nationals starting pitcher Scott Olsen, who was placed on the disabled list with a shoulder injury on May 22, has suffered a setback in his rehabilitiation. Via Adam Kilgore:

Scott Olsen is still not throwing, and the #Nats sent to him extended spring training in Viera, Fla., GM Mike Rizzo said. Not looking good.

This news surfaces only a week after Olsen threw 33 pitches in a bullpen session in Houston. Unfortunately, according to Nationals Journal, the session was far from smooth:

"It's just not really feeling as good as he had hoped," Manager Jim Riggleman said. "He was really making progress. He was really excited about basically coming off the disabled list at the time it was time. The last couple times he went out and threw, he said, 'You know what? I just don't feel right.' "

Olsen was 2-2 with a 3.77 ERA in eight starts for the Nationals before his injury. The timing of his return is still unknown.
