D.C. United announced today midfielder Brandon Barklage has undergone successful ACL reconstruction surgery after originally suffering the season-ending injury during United’s international friendly against AC Milan on May 26.

This is the 23-year old’s second ACL tear since being acquired on January 15, 2009.

In addition to ACL reconstruction, Barklage underwent a lateral meniscectomy to perform a medial meniscus repair.
Barklage’s previous rehabilitation lasted approximately six months, the projected time frame for his current healing process.
