Stay connected for news and updates

Fresh off signing his new six year contract, Trent Williams has taken the field for the Washington Redskins. Williams, according to reports, was inserted into the first unit immediately, and reports out of camp are indicating that the new addition is adapting well to Mike Shanahan's blocking schemes:

Via Redskins.com:

Yes, OT Trent Williams is working with first team. Largely unnoticed is that WR Anthony Armstrong is also getting some first-team reps.

Nice blocking by new offensive tackles Jammal Brown and Trent Williams. Brown pushed Brian Orakpo around McNabb on a pass play.

Via Grant Paulsen:

With rookie OT Trent Williams on the field, Albert Haynesworth is the only player missing practice.

Trent Williams is operating with first team. First play - Portis run to left right behind him.

The old adage is that the three most important positions in football are left tackle, quarterback, and head coach. The Redskins are now solid at all three. This could be the making of an interesting year.
