Gary Williams Will Be Inducted In Hall Of Legends

Stay connected for news and updates

Gary Williams has been the face of Maryland athletics for a while now, having rescued a morbid basketball program from the dead. He's accomplished as much as pretty much any college coach out there during his career. Now, he'll receive some recognition for all of that.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Williams will be inducted into the Hall of Legends, a state museum located at Camden Yards in Baltimore, next month. The museum, which opened in 2005, honors those who have made an impact on the local sports scene. Previous inductees include Babe Ruth (the museum's namesake), Johnny Unitas and Brook Robinson.

The event will take place on September, and tickets go on sale Thursday through Ticketmaster.
