The Capitals Are Selling Standing-Room Only Tickets Next Year

When you picture the ideal stadium atmosphere for a sporting event, it's one where fans are on their feet all the time, yelling and screaming to distract the opponent. Right?

If you share that vision, you'll probably like the news that the Capitals will be selling standing-room only tickets to home games next year, according to a team press release.

Single-game tickets are expected to sell out very quickly. Thanks to that demand, the Capitals will also offer a limited number of standing-room-only tickets for games once all seats have been sold.

Last year, the Capitals sold standing-room only tickets above sections 104-107 and 115-118 to their home playoff games for $100 a pop. Capitals' Senior Director of Media Relations Nate Ewell confirmed that the standing-room only tickets will be in the same spot this season, though it's not clear how much they will cost.

Regardless, as long as there's demand (and there will be), it's a good thing to find a way to get more people into the building and make it even louder than it was last year.
