The 34-year old Carter, who won two championship during his time with the Steelers, can be seen as as a durable band-aid for the Redskins, as he has not missed a game since 2004. National Football Post has more:
The 5-9, 195-pound Carter should be able to pick up the concepts of Jim Haslett’s defense quickly considering the Redskins are basing much of what they are doing defensively on the schemes in Pittsburgh. Washington’s linebackers coach Lou Spanos knows Carter well having come over from the Steelers himself.
Signing someone already familiar with the 3-4 is a good move by the Skins. However, one has to hold out hope that Moore's injury is not as bad as first believed.
