Top local high school recruit Quinn Cook injured his knee, but it was less serious than expected, and he should be back in time for the season opener.
One of the top local basketball recruits this year is Quinn Cook. Cook, who played at DeMatha this year, was the All-Met Player of the Year last year as a junior, and is currently ranked 20th nationally in the Class of 2011 according to Scout.com. He transferred to Oak Hill Academy this season, ostensibly with hopes of using that to generate even more recruiting buzz.
But that vision may now be on hold. Josh Barr of the Washington Post is reporting that Cook injured his knee in an all-star game in Southern California and could miss the entire season, pending the results of an MRI.
Cook has yet to make a decision on which college he will attend.

Quinn Cook, a local product who is one of the top basketball recruits in the Class of 2011, got some very, very good news today. His knee injury, which could have potentially caused him to miss his entire senior season, was less serious than expected.
According to Fanhouse's David Steele, Cook suffered a partially torn meniscus, rather than a torn ACL, and will only miss 4-5 weeks. This should put him on track to play when Oak Hill Academy, his current team, kicks off its season.
Cook's coach, Steve Smith, confirmed on his Twitter account that Cook will only miss 4-5 weeks. He had the surgery today.
Cook, who transferred from DeMatha to play at Oak Hill this year, is still undecided on his college choice.
