Nyjer Morgan Officially Suspended Eight Games By MLB

It took almost a week, but we now know the results of Nyjer Morgan's suspension hearing. According to Bill Ladson, Morgan has been suspended for eight games by MLB.

I just learned that Nationals center fielder Nyjer Morgan will be suspended for eight games starting Friday.

So the fifteen total games Morgan was originally suspended for has been cut nearly in half. That fifteen game total was comprised of separate eight and seven game suspensions. There is no word as of yet regarding how much each of the individual suspensions were reduced to reach the final eight game figure.

Morgan will be eligible to return to the team on September 25th.
