Major League Baseball has suspended Nyjer Morgan eight games for his actions last week, according to Sports Illustrated's John Heyman.

That suspension would be served consecutively, not concurrently, with the seven game suspension that he will appeal next week.

This suspension encompasses Morgan running over the catchers from both the Cardinals and the marlins in the past week, and his charging the mound against Marlins pitcher Chris Volstad on Wednesday.

There are only 25 games left in the Nationals season, and if both suspensions hold, Nyjer Morgan will not participate in 15 of them.
