NFL Depth Charts: Redskins Reportedly Will Release Willie Parker

When the Redskins brought in both Larry Johnson and Willie Parker to compete with Clinton Portis, you knew it was probably unlikely that all three would make the team. Ultimately, that guess held true.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the Redskins will release Parker today, clearing away Johnson's path to the roster.

Redskins informed RB Willie Parker today that he will be released. Looks like Larry Johnson makes it, Parker doesn't.

Parker is also changing agents, according to Schefter.

Parker often looked a step slower than Portis or Johnson, and his inability to also play special teams probably hurt his value. The news further increases the chances that Keiland Williams will make the team.
