NFL Depth Charts: Devin Thomas Will Make The Redskins' Roster

There was a lot of talk that Devin Thomas, the other second-round wide receiver taken in the 2008 NFL Draft, would be on the chopping block. The Redskins already placed fellow draft disappointment Malcolm Kelly on injured reserve, and Thomas hadn't exactly impressed the Redskins' coaching staff either.

But in the end, Thomas is safe ... for now. He will make the Redskins' 53-man roster, according to Rich Campbell of the Fredericksburg Free-Lance Star.

It remains unclear whether Thomas will have a high spot in the Redskins' pecking order at wide receiver. As of right now, it's hard to imagine he's ahead of Joey Galloway and Anthony Armstrong, two players that sat out the team's final preseason game. The Redskins are also rumored to be in the mix for T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who was released by the Seahawks today. But based on talent alone, Thomas should be one of the key players on this team. It remains to be seen if he makes the most of that talent.
