Maryland Vs. Navy: Maryland's First Passing Play Results In An Interception

Stay connected for news and updates

Sooner or later, somebody was going to have to pass the ball in this game. Maryland finally bit the bullet deep in Navy territory, and things didn't go as planned.

Navy's Emmett Merchant picked off Maryland quarterback Jamar Robinson's pass at the four yard line and returned it 27 yards to the Navy 31, ending yet another promising Maryland drive. Robinson's pass wasn't close to his intended receiver, and considering Maryland's success running the ball, you have to wonder why offensive coordinator James Franklin decided to call that pass play.

Either way, Navy is now driving trying to tie this game at 14.
