The Washington Wizards are back on the road, where they have yet to win this year. Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder welcome John Wall and company at 8 p.m. ET to kick off Washington’s trip.
Unless you've stopped watching the team altogether, you're surely aware the Wizards have yet to win on the road this season (0-21 away from the Verizon Center). So that’s going to be the story line each time the Wizards play a road game until they win.
This west coast swing won't be an easy place to nab that elusive victory, starting with the Thunder, a team the Wizards (and everyone else) would love to use as a model for rebuilding. Step 1: Luck into Kevin Durant or John Wall. Step 2: Find a Russell Westbrook or Jared Sullinger. Step 3: Profit.
Facing Memphis (13-7 at home) looks like the biggest opportunity, with Washington heading to Dallas and New Orleans to close out the trip. Never fear: if (when?) the Wizards come up empty-handed, they will still be four losses shy of matching the Mavericks' all-time record of 29 straight road defeats to open the season.
