Clemson Smacks Virginia Tech, Final Score 23-3

Stay connected for news and updates

It is time for the college football world to take the Clemson Tigers seriously. Today Clemson traveled to Blacksburg, Va., and crushed the Virginia Tech Hokies 23-3.

In the last three weeks Clemson has beat the defending national champ Auburn Tigers, pre-season ACC favorite Florida State Seminoles and last year's ACC champion Virginia Tech. Both teams came into the game undefeated, and Clemson will return to South Carolina 5-0 expecting a Top 10 ranking when the new polls come out tomorrow.

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd led the Tigers with 204 yards passing and another 28 yards on the ground. Tiger tight end Dwayne Allen led the receiving group for Clemson, hauling in a 32-yard touchdown catch from Boyd early in the third quarter. Clemson never trailed in the game, scoring the first points with a Chandler Catanzaro field goal. Clemson runningbacks Andre Ellington and Mike Bellamy also crossed the goal line for the Tigers.

The folks in Death Valley are no doubt partying tonight.
