ECU was driving with the football at the end of the third quarter and scored at the very beginning of the fourth quarter to take a 31-21 lead on a Reggie Bullock 13-yard touchdown run.

Navy got the football back and scored quickly as back up quarterback Trey Miller began to settle into the offense. Miller hit Brandon Turner on a 59-yard pass for the touchdown to pull back within one score of ECU. 31-28. After going three and out on his first couple of drives in the game, Miller led the Midshipmen on consecutive touchdown drives.

Navy forced ECU on a three and out to get the football back. Miller once again had the Midshipmen marching down the football field and once again scored on a long touchdown pass. Miller hit Matt Aiken for 37 yards and the touchdown to take the lead over ECU 35-31.

ECU got the football back however and went on a time killing 15 play, 77-yard drive to take back the lead. ECU slowly marched down the field and scored on another Reggie Bullock rushing touchdown from 3 yards out to take a 38-35 lead.

Navy attempted to mount a drive to tie the football game. The Midshipman were able to drive down to field goal range, but Jon Teague missed the potential game tying 42-yard field goal as Navy fell for the fifth consecutive week.
