Capitals Vs. Oilers: Mike Green Likely Out Against Oilers, Sean Collins In

Via Mike Vogel, Washington Capitals defenseman Mike Green will likely miss Thursday's game against the Edmonton Oilers as he continues to recover from a twisted right ankle.

Green missed Thursday's morning skate, according to The Washington Post's Katie Carrera. It is the fourth consecutive day of practice that Green has missed; he hasn't skated since Saturday's 7-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings, a game where he scored two goals and finished with four points.

Green hurt his ankle after taking a puck to the face during the first period Saturday. While the puck only left Green with stitches, he twisted his ankle as he fell to the ice as a result of the errant puck.

Recent call-up Sean Collins will replace Green in the lineup Thursday. Coincidentally, the last time Collins played for the Caps in May, he also replaced an injured Green.
