Capitals Vs. Maple Leafs: Two Struggling Teams Look To Right Things Saturday

The Caps are 1-4-1 in their last six games as is their opponent Saturday, the Maple Leafs.

The Washington Capitals entering Saturday as one of the NHL's worst teams through their last 10 games. A 3-6-1 record has included a 1-4-1 stretch and three straight losses, but perhaps relief will come in the form of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are also struggling entering Saturday's game between the two teams.

The Caps, once 7-0-0, are now 10-6-1 after Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. On November 3, the Leafs were 9-3-1 and on top of both the Northeast Division and Eastern Conference. Within the past two weeks, however, Toronto, like Washington, is 1-4-1 in its last six and is now in fifth place in the conference and second in the division.

Washington is also struggling to score lately with only 12 goals through its six-game slump. Playing the Leafs may help; Toronto has been outscored 26-8 in its last six games.

It looks like Caps will face Jonas Gustavsson Saturday. "The Monster" is 1-1-1 with a 3.93 GAA and .871 SV% in his career against Washington.
