Redskins Vs. Seahawks Score Update: Redskins (Finally) Strike First, Lead Seahawks 7-0 In First Quarter

For the first time in a long time, the Redskins strike first. Washington has taken a 7-0 lead over Seattle early in the first quarter as Rex Grossman found tight end Fred Davis for the two yard score. It was the first time all season that the Redskins have been able to score a touchdown on it's first possession. The last time they scored on their opening possession was on November 28th of last season.

The offense looks like it's been able to continue the positive momentum that began in last week's game against the Cowboys. Grossman was 8/9 on the drive for 79 yards while distributing the ball to four different receivers. Rookie Roy Helu rushed for 16 yards on five rushes.

For the Redskins offense, starting the game off was a must. It's been a problem for them during their six game losing streak.

Now that they have the early lead, we'll see if the defense is up to the task of maintaining it.
