Stars Vs. Capitals: John Carlson's Goal Has Caps, Stars Tied At 2-2

After an energetic first period, things seemed to cool down in the second period between the Dallas Stars and Washington Capitals. That is, until John Carlson woke Washington up.

Carlson's bomb from the point was the only goal of the period as the Caps and Stars are tied at 2-2.

Carlson's second goal of the season was the Caps' second one-timer goal of the game. On an offensive zone draw, Marcus Johansson won the faceoff and sent the puck to Cody Eakin, who quickly served it up to Carlson. Carlson blasted a slap shot past Kari Lehtonen at 15:56 tied the game at 2-2.

Shots are 26-25 in favor of Dallas, but Washington outshot them in the second period 15-12.
