Bradley Vs. George Washington: Colonials Come Up Short On Final Possession, Lose Fifth In A Row

The George Washington Colonials lost their fifth game in a row on Thursday night, falling to the Bradley Braves 67-66 at the Smith Center. GW senior Tony Taylor had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but his last second attempt was blocked by Walt Lemon as the Colonials came up one point short.

While Taylor and fellow backcourt mate Lasan Kromah typically do the heavy lifting on the offensive end, against Bradley, the Colonials had four players in double figures. Aaron Ware led GW with 13 points, while John Kopriva chipped in 12 for GW. Kopriva has been averaging less than five points per game, but the freshman from Milwaukee was a perfect 6 of 6 from the field to help out on the interior.

With the game tied at 64, Lemon, who led all scorers with 22, hit a triple to give the Braves a three point lead. Taylor would hit two free throws to cut it to one and then the Colonials would re-gain possession on the Braves inbound play, forcing a jump ball with the possession arrow in their favor. Taylor would drive left and pull up for the game winner, but Lemon got his hands on it and a Kromah follow up would fall short. The Colonials, now 4-6 this season, have a full week off before they host James Madison next Thursday.
