Howard Vs. Kansas: Bison Blown Out On The Road By Ranked Kansas Jayhawks

Coming off a win over Delaware, the Howard Bison traveled to Phog Allen Fieldhouse looking to pull off the unthinkable upset against one of the most venerable college basketball programs in the history of the game. It was not to be, however, as this one played out as expected. The Jayhawks raced out to a 42-13 halftime lead. It was not as bad as the 52-15 halftime deficit the Bison faced earlier this month against Indiana, but the game was not in doubt with twenty minutes left to play. Kansas finished with an 89-34 win at "The Phog."

Howard was simply overmatched on the offensive end, as they committed 22 turnovers against Bill Self's pressure defense. Catching fire from outside was one way Howard had a chance to keep it close, but in addition to the turnovers, the Bison also shot a miserable three of 18 from behind the arc. Overall, Howard shot a woeful 22% from the floor.

DC native Thomas Robinson finished with nine points and seven rebounds, as he rested on the bench with the game never really in doubt.

The Bison will stay out in Kansas to face yet another ranked BCS conference opponent. They are scheduled to take on the number 25 ranked Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday afternoon.
