The Maryland Terrapins (8-3) look to close out a perfect month of December when they welcome the Samford Bulldogs (3-8) to the Comcast Center Saturday for a New Year's Eve matinee. Maryland has won five games in a row, and a sixth straight win would mean a 6-0 December, the Terrapins first perfect December in three years.

Maryland is coming off a 83-72 victory over Albany that saw center Alex Len make his collegiate debut. Len scored 14 points, grabbed eight boards and blocked three shots in his 27 minutes on the floor.

This is the first meeting between the two schools in men's hoops. Samford, out of the Southern Conference, is coming off a 74-58 loss at the hands of Sam Houston State. Samford coach Jimmy Tillette and Maryland coach Mark Turgeon are familiar with each other from Turgeon's time at Jacksonville State.
