The 2011 Army-Navy game is on Saturday at FedEx Field, and several local companies will probably be producing products for the game itself. One such company is Georgetown Cupcake, who announced in a press release that it will be producing a limited-edition branded Army-Navy cupcake for the game.
Yup, Georgetown Cupcake.
The Army-Navy Game, presented by USAA, is a prominent rivalry in college football each year. This year’s game is going to be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 and will be hosted in the Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C, for the first time in the game’s 112-year history. In light of the match-up’s arrival in D.C, Georgetown Cupcake, Washington D.C.’s celebrated bakery and home to TLC’s hit series DC Cupcakes, will produce limited edition Army and Navy cupcakes branded with academy logos.
The new cupcake will be unveiling at the store's Georgetown location on Monday at 1 p.m., the press release announced. Then, throughout the week, the store will track which of the two service academy cupcakes sells better. The winner will be announced at the game's official gala on Friday, and 50 percent of all the proceeds will go to charity.
So, yeah, a cupcake competition. Fun!
