Khan Vs. Peterson: Lamont Peterson Discusses Fighting In His Hometown

Boxing returns to Washington D.C. next weekend when Unified Super Lightweight champion Amir Khan takes on challenger and Washington D.C.'s own Lamont Peterson at the D.C. Convention Center on Saturday. It's a big opportunity for Peterson to prove his mettle against one of the world's best boxers in his backyard.

Peterson joined SB Nation's Luke Thomas on 106.7 The Fan on Sunday night to discuss the prospect of fighting in his hometown. Bad Left Hook, SB Nation's boxing website, transcribed Peterson's comments on his hometown.

"For me, I don't think it's a problem at all," Peterson said about fighting at home and trying to impress family and friends.

"It can be a problem for certain people, but my thing is, you can only have distractions when you allow them. If you know what you have to do, and you do what you have to do, there will be no problems."

A full transcription of Peterson's interview, including his thoughts on how to beat Khan and more, can be found at Bad Left Hook.
