John Wall Fight With Zydrunas Ilgauskas Results In One-Game Suspension

John Wall has been suspended one game for throwing a punch at Miami center Zydrunas Ilgauskas during Wednesday night's game against the Heat. Wall received a Flagrant Foul, Penalty Two, and was penalized for his role in the incident, "which included throwing a closed-fist and forearm into the midsection of Ilgauskas," according to an NBA press release.

Ilgauskus has been fined $25,000 for making an obscene gesture to the crowd as he exited the game. He was ejected and received a Flagrant Foul, Penalty Two, for elbowing Wall in the face, which to the incident. Juwon Howard has been fined $35,000 for his role in "escalating the altercation."

Or as JaVale McGee said of Howard after the game, "I don't know, guess he wants to be a tough guy"

Wall will miss the Wizards next game, a Friday tilt with Cleveland at the Verizon Center. If Wall is going to miss a game, at least it's a home game against maybe the only team worse than Washington.
