This is it. Can you believe it? Wizards vs. Cavs in Cleveland, and then the season is over for Washington.
In the season finale, John Wall & Co. return to Cleveland, a special place for the 2010-11 Wizards. Cleveland is where Washington ended its 25-game road losing streak on Feb. 13, ensuring the team would not reach the NBA record for most consecutive road losses to start a season.
After the game, Andray Blatche told CSN's Chris Miller, "It just feel like we got a whole mountain off our back." The win was Wall's favorite moment of the season. Seriously, he told me.
This time, the circumstances are a little different. The Wizards head into Cleveland having won six of their last nine games. There are a lot of new faces -- D-League guys -- on the court. Most importantly, there's no feeling of dread. No painful absence of confidence.
Washington treated D.C. to a wild home finale against the Celtics on Monday. Can they finish the season on a high note with a win in Cleveland? We're about to find out!
