D.C. United At FC Dallas: Few Chances, No Goals At Halftime

D.C. United and FC Dallas have extended their run of offensive futility when playing against each other this season to 135 minutes as the teams hit the halftime break locked in a goalless draw at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.

United's best chance of the match came in the 18th minute, when Andy Najar tried a shot from 20 yards out that stung the palms of Dallas keeper Kevin Hartman. The rebound bounced harmlessly away from Joseph Ngwenya, who was camped on the doorstep. Najar caused more trouble for the home side in the 33rd minute as he sent in a curled free kick from the right channel that was deflected right to the foot of Brandon McDonald. Unfortunately for United, the center-back could only manage to screw his shot high over the bar.

Dallas had a couple chances of their own as Brek Shea was a focal point of the home side's offense. Shea's best opportunity came in the 20th minute when his blast from 30 yards out was slapped away by Bill Hamid. A few minutes earlier, the United keeper had to react quickly to deny a low cross by Jackson from the right side, managing to deflect it over the end line for an ultimately harmless corner kick.
