Starting Offensive Lineman Justin Lewis Dismissed From Maryland Football Team

Justin Lewis, an offensive lineman for the Maryland football team, has been dismissed due to a violation of team policies, the school announced Tuesday. In the press release, coach Randy Edsall declined to specify the violation.

"As with any organization there are policies which must be adhered to by all individuals and when they're not, there are consequences for an individual's actions," EdsalI said in a news release.

Lewis started 12 of 13 games for the Terps at right guard last season. The junior from South Carolina was expected to be one of the anchors on the line for the Terps. Instead, he becomes the 12th scholarship player with eligibility left to either leave the program or get kicked off the team since January 1, according to Patrick Stevens of the Washington Times. No matter what Lewis did, it's clear new coach Randy Edsall is leaving his mark on the team.
