The Washington Capitals will definitely be one of the most-seen teams in the NHL next season after the league released its national television schedule Thursday.

The NHL released its national television schedule Thursday and the Washington Capitals factor to be one of the most-seen teams.

The Caps could find themselves on NBC a total of five times this season. Only one game - January 22 at 3 p.m. against the rival Pittsburgh Penguins - is officially set to air on NBC. Four others - February 12 and April 7 against the New York Rangers, March 4 against the Philadelphia Flyers and March 18 against the Chicago Blackhawks - are considered NBC/Versus "flex" games, meaning that they could be broadcast on either network.

The Caps will also be seen on CBC's "Hockey Night In Canada" seven times, with none of the games coming against the newly-formed Winnipeg Jets. Add to that Washington's five appearances on TSN and the Caps will be on 12 Canadian national broadcasts.

Six Caps games will be seen exclusively on Versus (10 total with four non-exclusive games), while 15 will air on NHL Network. Of course, CSN and CSN + will air games locally as well. Local dates will be released in the near future.
