Navy football's Week 2 win came just as easily as its Week 1 one, if not easier. After routing I-AA foe Delaware, 40-17, at home in Week 1, the Midshipmen hit the road and defeated Western Kentucky, 40-14. It was a game that was never close, just like the victory over Delaware.
Navy scored on its fourth play of the game when John Howell scampered 50 yards for a touchdown and never looked back in getting the win. Kriss Proctor found a wide-open Matt Aiken on the sidelines at the end of the first quarter for a 44-yard touchdown pass, and Navy never looked back.
Navy piled up an insane 410 yards on the ground, while Proctor threw for two touchdowns on the day. Star Western Kentucky running back Bobby Rainey ran for 131 yards, but Western Kentucky put up only 153 yards passing and were picked off twice.
Navy now is 2-0 and will face their first real test of the season next week at No. 12 South Carolina.
