Navy Vs. South Carolina Score Update: Midshipmen Take Lead Entering Fourth Quarter

There are 15 minutes to play in Columbia, and Navy is in position to upset No. 10 South Carolina on the road. The Midshipmen trailed at halftime, but scored midway through the third quarter and now have a 21-17 lead.

A couple big plays allowed Navy to take the lead. First, South Carolina quarterback Stephen Garcia made one of his classic mistakes, throwing a ball up for grabs for an interception in the red zone. Navy then drove 91 yards and scored on the ensuing possession, aided by a lucky break. Fullback Alexander Teich fumbled and South Carolina nearly fell on it, but instead the ball squirted free and Navy recovered further up the field. Teich eventually scored from two yards out to give Navy the lead.

South Carolina is driving to re-take the lead as we speak. Still, this is an impressive performance for the Midshipmen.
