The Georgetown Hoyas bounced back in a big way from some early Big East struggles, racing away from St. John's with an 18-0 first-half run and a strong second half to win, 69-49. The Hoyas moved to 14-3 and 4-2 in the Big East, snapping a two-game losing streak with the win.
The game was close in the second half, but Georgetown left no doubt late, closing the game on a 21-4 run to turn a close game into a rout. Hollis Thompson hit five second-half three-pointers and finished with a team-high 20 points, while Jason Clark added 15 points. The Hoyas' defense was stingy, holding the Red Storm to 33-percent shooting.
