Georgetown Vs. West Virginia Final Score: Hoyas Fall, 72-62, For First Time Since November

The Georgetown Hoyas faced a double-digit second-half deficit for the second game in a row, but this time, they could not come up with a stunning comeback. The Hoyas dropped their first game since November, falling on the road to unranked West Virginia, 72-62, on Sunday. The Hoyas fall to 13-2 on the season, while the Mountaineers move to 12-4.

The game was within arms reach for a while until West Virginia took a 13-point lead with 4:36 remaining in the game. The Hoyas scored nine straight points to cut the lead to four, and many felt a comeback similar to the one that happened on Wednesday against Marquette would happen again. Instead, West Virginia regrouped and scored 10 of the final 14 points of the game to get the win.

Darryl "Truck" Bryant was the second-half star for West Virginia, scoring 19 of his 25 points then. Kevin Jones added 22, with 15 of those coming in the first half. Hollis Thompson had 20 points to lead the Hoyas.

Georgetown Vs. West Virginia Score Update: Turnover-Prone Hoyas Trail, 29-27, At Halftime

The Georgetown Hoyas are struggling early in Morgantown, as they trail West Virginia, 29-27, at halftime. The normally sure-handed Hoyas have already committed 10 turnovers, which has allowed West Virginia to maintain the lead throughout the first half. In many ways, Georgetown is lucky to only be down two points.

Kevin Jones has starred for the Mountaineers, scoring 15 of their 29 point in the first half. He's carried West Virginia, and few of his teammates have followed. Hollis Thompson has 13 for the Hoyas, and without him, Georgetown would surely be in big trouble. Henry Sims has just four points in the game, and top senior Jason Clark scored just two points in the first half.

Georgetown will need to take better care of the ball if it is to win this game.
