US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Examining the most recent bowl game projections.

Bowl games are just about two months away and many national pundits are beginning to make their predictions. Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has released his most recent picks and he currently has the Alabama Crimson Tide taking on the USC Trojans for the national championship.

The hometown Virginia Tech Hokies were projected for the Belk Bowl. They would take on Rutgers, which was ranked 15th in Sunday's BCS standings.

As for the other BCS games, Palm believes Kansas State and Notre Dame will meet for the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale. Florida State and Boise State will play for the Orange Bowl as the Broncos represent the nation's non-BCS teams. Georgia takes on Louisville for the Sugar Bowl, and Nebraska battles Oregon at the Rose Bowl.

A couple of notable other predictions include Oklahoma and LSU meeting for the Cotton Bowl, Michigan and South Carolina playing in the Capital One Bowl and Stanford taking on TCU for the Holiday Bowl.
