Wake Forest vs. Virginia 2012: Demon Deacons lead, 10-7

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons currently lead the Virginia Cavaliers at halftime, 10-7.

Wake Forest jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter, when running back Josh Harris ripped off a 16-yard touchdown run. Wake Forest punt returner Lovell Jackson set up the Demon Deacons with excellent field position, rattling off a 60 yard punt return, and giving Wake Forest's offense the ball at Virginia's 16 yard line.

It took just one play for Wake Forest's offense to score.

Virginia responded late in the second half, when Phillip Sims completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tim Smith, evening the game up at 7-7.

Wake Forest added a field goal with just three seconds left to go in the half.

The Cavaliers will need a stronger effort from their running game in the second half. Virginia has carried the ball 17 times for 21 yards. Running backs Perry Jones and Kevin Parks have combined to run the ball 11 times for 11 yards.

Virginia's defense has held Wake Forest to just 114 total yards in the first half.

The Demon Deacons will receive the ball to open the second half.
