Redskins vs. Steelers score: Washington driving, but trail, 10-0 after 1 quarter

Stay connected for news and updates

The Washington Redskins trail the Pittsburgh Steelers, 10-0, after one quarter at Heinz Field. The Washington defense game up scores on both of Pittsburgh's drives in the first quarter.

The Steelers opened the scoring on their first drive when they elected to go for it on 4th-and-goal from the 1-yard line and converted. Ben Roethlisberger faked a hand-off and rolled out right before hitting Leonard Pope for the game's first touchdown.

Later, Shaun Suisham split the uprights for a 48-yard field goal on the Steelers' second drive to extend the lead to 10-0.

Washington was forced to punt on their first drive, but has the ball in deep in Pittsburgh territory to begin the second quarter.

The Redskins come into Week 8 with a 3-4 record on the year. They are looking to bounce back from last week's late loss to the New York Giants. The Steelers are 3-3 after beating the Cincinnati Bengals a week ago and have not lost a home game yet this season.
