Jazz vs. Wizards score update: Washington leads Utah 40-38 at half

The Washington Wizards are halfway to their first win of the season, leading the Utah Jazz 40-38 at the Verizon Center. The Wizards started the game with an 11-0 run, but the Jazz battled back after the initial Washington spurt.

Trevor Ariza leads all scorers with 16 points in the first half. The swingman is 7-14 from the floor, and added three rebounds and three steals. Jordan Crawford, starting at shooting guard over rookie Bradley Beal, is second on the team in scoring with nine points. Emeka Okafor hauled in seven rebounds in the first half, including three on the offensive end. Beal is the only Washington player to come off the bench and score, shooting 3-3 from the field for six points.

Gordon Hayward leads the Jazz with 13 points off the bench, shooting 4-6 from the field and 4-4 from the charity stripe. Mo Williams leads Jazz starters with eight points, and dished out three assists as well.
