San Jose State will reportedly be one of the teams selected to play in the 2012 Military Bowl at RFK Stadium on Dec. 27.
San Jose State will be one of the competitors in the 2012 Military Bowl scheduled to be held at RFK Stadium on Dec. 27, according to a report by Patrick Stevens of the Washington Times on Friday afternoon.
Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, Stevens states that a formal announcement is expected to be made later on Friday.
San Jose State ranks as the No. 25 overall team in the latest installment of the Bowl Championship Series standings. Registering an overall record of 10-2 this season, the team finished the year with a six-game winning streak and will look to extend it to seven with a victory in the five-year-old Military Bowl.
As of this time, it is unknown who San Jose State will play in the game. The Military Bowl was originally projected to be a matchup of the No. 8 selection from the ACC against Army. Army is entering its season finale with a 2-9 overall record and no more than six ACC teams are expected to be bowl eligible.
