Canadian pop star greets injured, third-year NBA point guard. Internet hums and spins away.

Someday, when the alien anthropologists pick through the smoldering wreckage of our planetary society (and our servers), they will come across the image below and record it as a seminal moment, perhaps even on the level of this or this.

What it actually is, is a Canadian pop star greeting an injured third-year NBA point guard prior to the former's concert at the Verizon Center Monday night. We may never know exactly why Mr. Bieber chose to traverse the halls of the downtown arena in a Segway, but then, we may never know exactly what the purpose of Stonehenge was, either. So, you know.

And because we've wasted too many words on this, we will reprint part of Jake Whitacre's original tune, "Point Guard." The full song is available at Bullets Forever.

If I was your point guard, I'd never let you go
I can take you places you never been before
Ernie take a chance or you'll never ever know
I got skills in my hands that I'd really like to show
Swag swag swag, on you
Chillin' on the floor while I'm crossin' Manu
I don't know about me but I know about you
So say hello to the playoffs in three, two, swag

Etc. Fin.
