St. Francis (PA) vs. American: Eagles down Red Flash, 61-51

Stephen Lumpkins scored 22 points as American University defeated St. Francis, 61-51.

The American University Eagles improved to 3-4 on Saturday, after defeating the St. Francis Red Flash, 61-51.

Stephen Lumpkins led all scorers with 22 points in the win for American. Lumpkins played 38 minutes, and also grabbed seven rebounds, and added three assists and three blocks. Lumpkins was 10-of-11 shooting from the free-throw line.

American's main damage came from its starters. The Eagles' starting five scored 58 of the team's 61 points. Jesse Reed scored the only bench points for the Eagles, hitting a three-pointer in his four minutes of playing time off the bench.

Umar Shannon led St. Francis with 20 points in 31 minutes of action. Shannon was 6-of-13 shooting, and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Stephon Mosley scored 15 points off the bench for the Red Flash, and added four rebounds in the loss.

American will head to Howard on Tuesday, Dec. 4, as the Eagles look to even up their record at 4-4.
