VCU guard Briante Weber scores a team-high 14 points as the Rams get out to an early lead against Western Kentucky and notch their eighth win of the year.
Four players scored in double figures, led by guard Briante Weber's 14, as the VCU Rams topped the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers easily on Tuesday night, 76-44.
VCU got out to a quick lead against the Hilltoppers, with Briante leading the way. A Darius Theus layup as the first half closed gave the Rams a dominating, 42-16, first-half lead that was never in jeopardy in the second half.
Western Kentucky kept it close in the second half, getting outscored only by six points in the half. No Hilltopper scored more than 10 points on the night, but Western Kentucky forward George Fant did record a near double-double, scoring eight and pulling down eight rebounds. Guard Brandon Harris also contributed seven points and four assists for Western Kentucky.
All three of VCU's starting guards scored in double figures, as Rob Brandenberg's 12 points and Treveon Graham's 11 points helped the Rams easily capture victory Tuesday night.
