Navy's poor shooting cost them on Saturday
After jumping out to a 19-10 lead, Navy's offense sputtered as they fell 55-46 to Northern Kentucky. The Midshipmen shot just 37.3% from the field, while the Norse hit half their shots in a surprise performance. Starting with 3:30 remaining in the first half, Navy scored just one point in the next eight minutes, allowing a methodical NKU team to take a lead they would never relinquish.
Three Norse players scored in double figures, while just six Navy players even managed field goals. NKU senior forward Ernest Watson led all scorers with 19, while freshman Tilman Dunbar led the Midshipmen with 12 points. Eshaunte Jones had 13 points and seven assists for the Norse, while no Navy player had more than two assists.
Still two weeks away from Patriot League play, Navy is now 6-7 on the season. They will face Albany, members of the American East Conference, on December 28.
