George Mason led Lamar 47-34 at halftime, looking like they would easily walk away with the victory in an important BracketBuster game. The Lamar Cardinals weren't going to go down easy however and stoemed back in the second half to score 37 points to George Mason's 28. It wasn't quite enough however as George Mason was able to survive and hold on for the 75-71 victory.
Ryan Pearson ended the night with 17 points for George Mason and also brought down 10 rebounds to pick up the double-double. Sherrod Wright was able to pick up 13 points off the bench for the Patriots, while Andre Cornelius added nine points on the afternoon. Brandon Davis led the way for Lamar in the late rally, picking up 13 points on the day while Devon Lamb added 12 points and Mike James added 10 points from the bench.

George Mason welcomed in the Lamar Cardinals in a critical BracketBusters matchup for the Patriots. At halftime, George Mason holds a 47-34 lead and look to hold on to the lead in the second half. Ryan Pearson leads the Patriots in scoring with nine points on the day so far with five rebounds and three assists. Sherrod Wright has also been able to pick up eight points off the bench while Mike Morrison and Corey Edwards both have seven points at halftime.
Devon Lamb leads Lamar in scoring with 10 points so far on the day, but the George Mason defense has held the Cardinals to just one of five from the three-point land. George Mason is also out rebounding Lamar 12 to 9 in the first half and look to put more distance between the two teams.
