While Mark Turgeon was busy with the Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday, his program secured the commitment of little known big man Demonte Dodd.

Mark Turgeon and the Maryland Terrapins were buys on the court last night beating the Hurricanes of Miami, but while all that was happening, the program received a commitment from Queen Anne's County High School on the Eastern Shore. The Commitment was initially discovered on his Rivals profile (which has since been removed oddly enough) but has been confirmed by Inside Maryland Sports and Dodd's High School Coach. Not a lot is known about Dodd, and the guys over tat Testudo Times have a good idea why.

You can't teach size, or athleticism. If Dodd has both, I'm assuming they feel he can mold him. The Shore gets, I'm assuming, basically no college scouts - Andre Collins is the only guy I can remember from out there, and he was setting state scoring records if I recall correctly - and it doesn't appear that Dodd played AAU over the summer. There would be basically no way for him to exposure, so it's tough to judge. Talent is talent, though, no matter where it is.

Dodd has pretty good size for the position and is said to have good athleticism. He is just a victim of lack of exposure, playing all the way out on the Eastern Shore without any AAU exposure. But Georgetown among other have been out to see him recently, so he is starting to garner some attention. This could be a very good under the radar get for Mark Turgeon and his staff.
