NFL Combine 2012: Robert Griffin III Calls Meeting With Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan 'Awesome'

Rumors and speculation began swirling on Friday that the Washington Redskins would meet with Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III this weekend. RG3 lit up Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday during his workout, running a blistering 4.38 in the 40-yard dash. While he's already projected as a lock in the top five, his stock continues to rise this weekend in Indy.

Griffin III confirmed his visit with the Skins when he was on the NFL Network's set with Rich Eisen.

Via Rich Tandler:

While discussing Griffin's team visits during an appearance on the NFL Network, host Rich Eisen said to Griffin, "At least Shanahan has spoken to you."

RG3 responded, "I did speak with Mr. Shanahan. It was awesome."
