BALLSTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals returned to work Tuesday after a quiet trade deadline to prepare for their game against the New York Islanders. Nothing changed at the deadline and nothing will apparently change Tuesday as Mike Knuble and Roman Hamrlik will likely be healthy scratches once again.
Knuble will now be a healthy scratch for six of the last 10 games, while Hamrlik will sit out for his fourth consecutive game. Both, along with John Erskine, took part in extra work after Tuesday's morning skate and did not speak to reporters after they left the ice.
Meanwhile, head coach Dale Hunter said that it will be a "game-time" decision on who will start in goal between Michal Neuvirth and Tomas Vokoun. Neuvirth started and won both of Washington's games this weekend, allowing three goals on 61 shots.
