After falling to Miami in double overtime on Wednesday, the Maryland Terrapins will look to get back to .500 in the ACC. It won't be easy, however, as the No. 6 team in the country, the North Carolina Tar Heels, come calling with a Saturday afternoon visit to Comcast Center. After a 33-point blowout loss to Florida State, the Heels have rolled off four straight double digit ACC wins in which they've rarely been challenged.
UNC is perhaps the best offensive team in the country, scoring 84 points per game, which is tops among all NCAA division one teams. They also lead the country in rebounds per game, with a huge front line of Tyler Zeller and John Henson crashing the glass. They rarely squander a possession on the offensive end.
As usual, the Tar Heel roster is loaded with talent and pro prospects. Their most talented player, Harrison Barnes, is questionable for Saturday afternoon's game. He rolled his ankle in UNC's win over Wake Forest on Tuesday and will be a game time decision. Barnes is a first-team All-American by almost any metric, and if he's unable to go, it provides the Terps with a crucial boost to pull off the upset win. The Terps will no doubt be upset-minded, looking to rebound from frustrating double OT loss in which Mark Turgeon was ejected. Tip is scheduled for 4:00 PM Saturday afternoon.
