The Georgetown Hoyas look to improve to 7-3 in the Big East on Saturday afternoon, as the South Florida Bulls visit Verizon Center. The Hoyas are coming off a nice 14-point home win over a struggling Connecticut team, and a win on Saturday would keep Georgetown on the heels of Syracuse and Marquette at the top of the conference.
The Bulls, however, will not be a walkover Big East opponent. They are having successful season so far for Stan Heath, and are just a half game behind the Hoyas in the conference. They lead the league in total defense, allowing just 59.0 points per game, just ahead of the Hoyas. While they have had great success clamping down on the defensive end, they struggle to score at times with only Jawanza Polland and Augustus Gilchrist scoring in double figures. Poland re-joined the club late in the season after being hampered with injury issues. He's one of the best athletes in the Big East and will present a challenge for the Hoyas on both ends of the floor.
It's an early Saturday tip scheduled for 11:00 AM.
